Vol. 30 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballytoohy Lands (Roscommon).

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state when it is the intention of the Land Commission to sub-divide the lands of Ballytoohey, Co. Roscommon (O'Farrell estate); if his attention has been drawn to a report of the Tarmonbarry Boat Club, that the Club intended to purchase portion of the lands from the Land Commission, and if he will give an assurance that no such sale will be sanctioned by the Land Commission, in view of the fact that there are many uneconomic holders in the vicinity who are anxious to acquire additions to their present holdings.

The scheme in this estate has not yet been approved by the Commissioners. The Tarmonbarry Boat Club have, I understand, requested the Land Commission to sell them a plot of ground alongside the river for the purpose of a clubhouse and this matter is under consideration.
