Vol. 31 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Search for Arms (Kerry).

asked the Minister for Justice whether he will state if a search for arms was made by the Gárda Síochána at the house of Denis Curran, Inchintray, Cahirciveen, Co. Kerry, on the 21st May, 1929; and, if so, if he will state whether the Gárda Síochána had a warrant to search the house on that occasion, and if they had, why they did not produce it when asked to do so by the said Denis Curran.

A search order was issued on the 21st May last under the Firearms Act, 1925, authorising the search of the house at Inchintray, Cahireiveen, occupied by one Denis Curran. When the party of police to whom the execution of the order was entrusted called at the house, Mrs. Kate Curran explained that Denis Curran, the former rated occupier, was dead. The police then withdrew without having conducted any search of the house.
