Vol. 31 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Exchange of Kerry Holdings.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he is in a position to give any assurance that an effort will be made before the Recess to accommodate Mrs. Cronin, Tureenamult, Gneeveguilla, Rathmore, Kerry, with a suitable holding in exchange for her present home, and thus assist in the immediate re-opening of the limestone quarries of Tureenamult, Gneeveguilla, Rathmore.

Efforts are at present being made to see whether it would be possible to provide Mrs. Cronin, of Tureenamult, with a suitable holding in exchange for her own, so that the trustees of the quarry thereon could resume quarrying operations. With this end in view the holding of a man named James Kelleher, who has applied for a transfer to the Midlands, has been inspected to ascertain whether it would be suitable for Mrs. Cronin, but the arrangement, if found to be feasible, could not be completed before the Recess, as it will involve two migrations, and will depend on whether it is possible to find a suitable holding for James Kelleher.
