Vol. 31 No. 4

Question on Adjournment.

What question is it Deputy Davin wishes to raise on the adjournment?

I intend to raise the question of the unsatisfactory reply given by the Parliamentary Secretary, which the Judicial Commissioners' decision may explain.

The Deputy cannot raise the question of a decision given in court by the Judicial Commissioners. There are questions he may raise, but he must not raise that question.

I listened attentively to the reply of the Parliamentary Secretary, and he said that the owner's objection was allowed by the Commissioners. I have information on this file here to show that the objection was disallowed.

The Deputy is quite within his rights in raising the question of the action of the Commissioners. I only want him to understand the limits of the debate.

I stated that there were two stages in these proceedings.

Much more detailed information will have to be given before I am satisfied.

Molesworth Street comes in.
