Vol. 83 No. 5

Ceisteanna.—Questions. Oral Answers. - Supply of Coal to Gas Company.

asked the Minister for Supplies if representations were made to his Department concerning a shortage of supplies of coal to the Naas Gas Company and what action his Department has taken in the matter.

Representations were received during last month in my Department from the manager of Naas Gas Company requesting the assistance of my Department in obtaining supplies of gas coal. The matter was taken up with the company's regular suppliers with a view to meeting the company's immediate needs from stocks in hand pending the arrival of a cargo expected on the 6th instant. Arrangements were made accordingly. I understand the gas company has now sufficient supplies to last for some weeks to come.
