Vol. 32 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Sligo Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he can state if the Land Commission have acquired, or intend to acquire, the lands belonging to Harry Evans, on the McGann estate, in the townland of Corroy, parish of Kilmactigue, Co. Sligo, for the relief of congestion in that district.

There are no proceedings pending in the Land Commission for the acquisition of the lands of Corroy referred to, and the Land Commission do not at present propose to acquire them. These lands, comprising about 46 acres, have been purchased under the Land Purchase Acts. The Land Commission have already acquired from Mr. Evans 638 acres.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he can state when the Land Commission propose vesting the Tottenham estate, parish of Easkey, Co. Sligo.

The prescribed schedules of particulars of the lands on the estate of representatives of C.G. Tottenham, County Sligo, comprising 76 holdings, in the townlands of Bookaun, Carrownrod, Carrownrush and Fenned, parish of Easkey, have been lodged to enable the lands to be vested in the Land Commission under the Land Act, 1923, but I am not at present in a position to state when it may be reached in its order to be dealt with by them.
