Written Answers. - Retired National Teachers.

asked the Minister for Finance to state (a) the number of National Teachers, male and female respectively, who retired on pension and became chargeable on the National School Teachers (Ireland) Pension Fund in each of the years ending 31st December, 1921, 1922, 1923, 1924, 1925, 1926, 1927 and 1928, respectively; (b) the total amount which became payable in each of the aforementioned years by way of pensions to the teachers, male and female respectively, who so retired, and (c) the total amount paid in pensions from the fund in each of the aforementioned years.

The information asked for in the Deputy's question is as follows:—
