Vol. 32 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral—Answers. - Positions Under Local Authorities.

asked the President if any marks are allowed for military service to applicants for posts under local authorities; and, if so, if he will state the method of allocation.

If the Deputy's question relates to appointments made by local authorities on the recommendation of the Local Appointments Commissioners, the reply is that no marks are allowed for military service to any applicants for any appointments made by local authorities on the recommendation of the Local Appointments Commissioners.

Will the President state how many ex-officers of the medical service have been recommended in the past six months for such positions, and how many such officers are in receipt of pensions?

I think the Deputy must realise that is an entirely different question.
