Vol. 33 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - The Housing (Gaeltacht) Act.

(An Clár) asked the Minister for Land and Fisheries if he will state (1) how many applications have been received for (a) grants, (b) loans, under the provisions of the Housing (Gaeltacht) Act, 1929; (2) how many (a) grants, (b) loans, have been sanctioned; and (3) how many applications for (a) grants, (b) loans, in respect of each county have been received, and how many sanctioned in respect of each county.

The number of persons from whom letters have been received to date is 4,503. Applications for grants must be in the form prescribed by the Regulations made under the Act. These Regulations have been drafted, and the form of application has been sent in advance to the printers. It is anticipated that it will be ready in a few days' time, and it will be issued to applicants as soon as possible.

Mr. Hogan

Do I understand that no loans have been sanctioned so far?
