Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - O'Rourke Estate, Galway.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he will state if the Land Commission have yet acquired Bermingham Farm (Charles O'Rourke Estate), situate at Bermingham, Tuam, County Galway; also, if he will state the amount of land at present owned by Mr. O'Rourke in this estate.

The Land Commission have purchased from Mr. Chas. T. O'Rourke some 1,531 acres of untenanted land in County Galway under the Land Act; 1923, in addition to a large amount of land purchased under the previous Land Acts. Proceedings are pending for the acquisition of a further 255 acres. The major portion of this total of 1,786 acres is in the Tuam district. They have resold to Mr. O'Rourke Bermingham House, with some 449 acres adjoining and 108 acres of the lands of Garrauns.
