Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - British Ex-Servicemen.

asked the President if the proposal of the Government, as set out in paragraph IX. (a) of the Memorandum on the Report of the Committee on claims of British ex-Servicemen, to approach the British Government with a view to seeing whether, in the case of recipients of "needs pensions" exceeding 16/- a week, they would be prepared to continue payment of these pensions in full after the beneficiaries have become qualified for the old age pension, has been given effect to; and, if so, with what result.

In accordance with the undertaking contained in the last paragraph of Section IX. (a) of the Government Memorandum on the Report of the Committee on Claims of British ex-Servicemen, the suggestion referred to in the Deputy's question has been brought to the notice of the British Government, but no reply has yet been received.

A despatch to the British Government was issued on Monday last, and there has been no time for a reply.
