Vol. 34 No. 2

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Private Deputies' Business as on the Order Paper.

In view of the fact that one of the most important matters on the Order Paper is number 19, standing in the name of Deputy Davin, I would suggest that No. 19 should be taken after No. 11 on the Paper with the consent of the members having charge of the Bills. That is, if the Fianna Fáil Party are agreeable. This motion is certainly of more importance than any other motion on the Order Paper today with the exception of that of Deputy Murphy—Deputy Murphy will give way to me in regard to his motion—and I suggest to those concerned that they might allow No. 19 to come after No. 11.

Without accepting Deputy Anthony's decision on the importance of the motion, Deputies on this side of the House would be prepared to facilitate the taking of No. 19 after No. 14. I do not think that either No. 13 or 14 will take any considerable length of time.

That is to say, to put the Bills on the Order Paper forward, and then take No. 19 as the first motion.

After No. 14.

In order to help Deputy Anthony, would it not be well if No. 16 were dealt with? If a decision were taken on it it would be better.

If the President will apply what is contained in Deputy Joseph X. Murphy's motion, that is, limitation of speeches, to the discussion this evening, I am prepared to accept it.

Will you do it on Friday morning?

The order of business is as on the Order Paper except that after No. 14 No. 19 will be taken.
