Vol. 34 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Donneycarney Housing Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether there is any condition laid down in the contract between the Dublin Commissioners and the British Housing Association stipulating a time limit for the completion of No. 2 Section Donneycarney Housing Scheme, in order that the State grant be obtained.

The contract made between the Dublin City Commissioners and the Housing Corporation of Great Britain for the erection of 179 houses under the Housing of the Working Classes Acts at Donneycarney was signed on the 9th October, 1929. It stipulated that the works should be completed within 52 weeks from that date.

Is the Minister aware that the work has not been completed, and that the work in fact has been held up? Could the Minister give any reason?

I am afraid the Deputy will have to address that to the Minister for Local Government as a separate question.
