asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state the number of holdings (a) under judicial and (b) under non-judicial tenancies vested during the year ending 31st March, 1930; and the total number now vested and remaining to be vested in each case.

Under the Land Acts, 1923-9, during the year ended the 31st March, 1930, 2,781 judicial tenancies and 1,786 non-judicial tenancies were vested in the Land Commission, making a total of 4,567 for the year. The total number vested up to the 31st March, 1930, was 7,175 judicial tenancies and 4,171 non-judicial tenancies, making a total of 11,346 under the Land Acts, 1923-9. The total number remaining to be vested, for which schedules of particulars have been lodged by owners under Section 40 of the Land Act, 1923, is 47,000 judicial tenancies and 32,000 non-judicial tenancies. Of these 7,540 judicial and 8,186 non-judicial tenancies have been provisionally gazetted preparatory to vesting.
