Vol. 35 No. 2

In Committee on Finance. - Vote 17—Rates on Government Property.

I move:

Go ndeontar suim ná raghaidh thar £62,400 chun slánuithe na suime is gá chun íoctha an Mhuirir a thiocfidh chun bheith iníoctha i rith na bliana dar críoch an 31adh lá de Mhárta, 1931, chun Rátaí agus Síntiúisí in ionad Rátaí, etc., i dtaobh Maoine, Rialtais agus chun Síntiúisí mar chabhair chun Rátaí ar Fhoirgintí atá i seilbh Ionadaithe Rialtas Coigríche.

That a sum not exceeding £62,400 be granted to complete the sum necessary to defray the Charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1931, for Rates and Contributions in lieu of Rates, etc., in respect of Government Property and for Contributions towards Rates on Buildings occupied by representatives of External Governments.

The amount of this Vote depends on the rate struck by local authorities. It is to meet payments in lieu of rates on premises occupied by external States. It is really a token sum and will cover possibly the rates on premises occupied by the French and German Ministers and also the rates on the premises occupied by the Papal Nuncio.

Vote agreed to.
