Vol. 36 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Hawkers' Licences.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is aware that the Revenue Commissioners are demanding a hawker's licence of £10 from poor people who sell fruit, chocolate and sweets at hurling and football matches in Kilkenny, and who bring their goods to the sports grounds by an ass and cart; if he will state on what grounds this demand is made, and if he will see that such people are not required to pay such licence.

I am not aware that payment of hawkers' licence duty is being demanded in the circumstances stated. If the Deputy will furnish particulars of any case in which such demand has been made the matter will be inquired into and the Deputy informed of the result.
