Vol. 36 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Stock.

Tomás O Maoláin

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the percentage of land stock held in Ireland, and what proportion of this is held by organised bodies.

According to the figures furnished in the British Finance Accounts for the financial year 1929-30, it would appear that on 31st March, 1928, 6.787 per cent. of the total amount of Guaranteed Land Stock, Guaranteed 2¾ per cent. Stock and Guaranteed 3 per cent. Stock then outstanding was inscribed in the books of the Bank of Ireland at their Dublin and Belfast offices. It would be impossible to state what proportion of these stocks so inscribed is held by organised bodies.
