Vol. 37 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Road Accommodation in Co. Kerry.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he is aware that several of the inhabitants of Cromane, Killorglin, Co. Kerry, have no road leading to their homes, that at present they are compelled to travel a substantial portion of the journey to and from market and turbary through a rough strand, and that in consequence they are often prevented from attending market to sell their produce, and also often compelled to leave their carts behind when returning from the market; and whether the Minister will take steps to provide these poor people with the necessary road facilities by linking up the new road with the old one in this townland.

The Land Commission are at present considering the construction of a road to connect the existing roads adjoining Cromane Beach. The proposed work cannot, however, be undertaken pending the erection of a protecting sea wall.
