Vol. 37 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pembroke U.D.C. Accounts.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state whether the audit by the Local Government Department Auditor has shown a deficit of £31,000 in the Revenue Account of the dissolved Pembroke Urban Council; and, if so, has such deficit arisen from the striking of a rate insufficient to discharge the needs of the Pembroke area; will the deficiency in such revenue account entail any loss upon the ratepayers of Dublin City; and what steps, if any, will be taken by his Department to regularise the present financial position.

The facts are as stated in the question, save that the amount involved will be diminished by certain adjustments. The matter is one for the consideration, in the first instance, of the Dublin City Manager.
