Vol. 37 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Allocation of Relief Vote.

Pádraig O hOgáin

(An Clár) asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state (a) what is the total amount of money given for administration under his Department from the Relief Vote; (b) how much of this has been allocated for expenditure in County Clare; (c) how many schemes are now in operation in County Clare; how many men are employed on the schemes; how much wages has been paid up to the latest day on which payment of wages was made; what is the rate of wages and where are the works situate.

The replies are:—(a) £160,000 approximately. (b) £1,500 to Kilrush Urban District Council. (c) The work at Kilrush has not yet commenced. Tenders are at present being invited.

Mr. Hogan

Does that mean that only £1,500 has been allocated from the Local Government portion of the relief grant to County Clare?

That would seem to be so.

Mr. Hogan

Can the Minister say whether any applications have been received from the County Clare Board of Health for further grants?

I am not aware of it.

Mr. Hogan

That is a summary way to deal with it.
