Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Distribution of Lands in Beauparc, Meath.

Mr. O'Reilly

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will give his attention to the area in the Beauparc district, Co. Meath, with a view to the distribution of land to numerous uneconomic holders surrounding the Ballinlong Estate, Green Hills Estate, Brodigan Estate, Ardmulchan Estate, and the Painstown Estate.

The Land Commission have under consideration the question of the acquisition of a retained holding on the Brodigan Estate, and a retained holding on the townland of Painestown and Thurstianstown on the Egginton Estate. They have also under consideration the acquisition of the lands of Painestown, known as Greenhills. There are no proceedings in respect of the lands of Ballinlough.

It is not proposed to take any action regarding the lands of Ardmulchan referred to by the Deputy.
