Vol. 40 No. 16

Ceisteanna.—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of Clive Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state when that portion of the Captain P.A. Clive estate, in the townland of Dooriel, Ballycroy, County Mayo, will be striped for the convenience of the tenants who are already in occupation.

I am not yet in a position to state when the holdings in the townland of Dooriel on the Clive estate will be striped. The holdings require rearrangement and improvement and the work will be carried out as soon as possible.

Would the Parliamentary Secretary see this work is pressed forward as soon as possible? The people living there at present are living under the Rundale system. Besides, employment is very badly needed in the district and it is important that the work should be carried out this winter. There is very little chance of any other scheme of employment being carried out there, so that it is important that this should be done as quickly as possible.
