Vol. 40 No. 19

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Reductions in Licensed Houses.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state the number of licensed houses that have been closed in each year under the provisions of the Intoxicating Liquor Act, 1927, from the date of the passage of the Act until the present time, and whether any licences have lapsed irrespective of the operation of that Act since 1927.

The number of licences abolished under the Intoxicating Liquor Act, 1927, in the year 1928 was 299. Since then no licence has been abolished under this Act.

The information asked for in the last part of the question is being collected, and will be communicated to the Deputy as soon as possible.
