Vol. 41 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Amendment of Courts of Justice Act.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is in a position to state when the proposed Bill to amend the Courts of Justice Act, 1924, following upon the Report of the Joint Committee on that Act, will be introduced.

I am not at the moment in a position to say when the Bill in question will be introduced.

Is it the intention to introduce such a Bill at all?

The Report of the Committee is dated the 5th November, 1930. I took up office on last Wednesday evening.

That is not an answer to my question. May I ask the Minister whether it is his intention to introduce such a Bill?

It is my intention to transact the business of my Department as expeditiously as possible. Up to the moment, I have lived up to that intention.

The Minister has not yet answered my question. I merely asked the Minister for Justice whether it is his intention and the intention of his Government to introduce such a Bill as has been mentioned by Deputy Wolfe?

The Deputy must be satisfied with the answer.

Except that it is no answer.
