Early this morning I directed that a statement of the facts should be obtained without avoidable delay. All the relevant facts have not yet been ascertained. The Civic Guard Authorities are, I think, acting with all the expedition one could reasonably expect, but I have not yet had laid before me a full and complete statement of the facts.

Can the Minister state that this attack on the barracks took place as a result of the inflammatory speeches made by the members of his own Party during the General Election?
Is the Minister aware that the attack in question took place as a sequel to the celebrations of victory by the Fianna Fáil Party in the town of Skibbereen?
As I stated in reply to Deputy Hogan, I have not all the facts before me at the present time, but I have enough facts to warrant me in sounding a note of caution. I would invite the Deputies who put the two supplementary questions to repeat these to-morrow also.
