Vol. 41 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rathmullen Pier.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state when are the improvements in Rathmullen pier, which were sanctioned last year, going to be carried out.

Plans were prepared of the improvements proposed at Rathmullen, but certain alternative suggestions have been made through the county council necessitating the amendment of the plans. The Board of Works engineer is at present in touch with the county surveyor regarding the amended detailed plans, which are expected to be ready in a few weeks' time. It is not possible to state definitely when the works will commence.

I do not want to ask the Parliamentary Secretary to give an undertaking that he says he cannot give, but would it be possible to say that this work will be put in hands before the end of this year?

It is not possible to say anything more than I have said, but there will be no unnecessary delay.
