Vol. 41 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rathmines Telephone Exchange.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state when it is intended to proceed with the erection of the new Telephone Exchange and Post Office for which a site has already been cleared in Rathmines, and if he is aware that there is great need for extended telephone facilities in the area, and if commencement of the work will be expedited to give much-needed employment locally.

The need for extended telephone facilities in the area is recognised, and steps have already been taken to expedite the work in connection with the new exchange. Plans of the new building are nearing completion, and tenders for erection will be sought without delay.

Is the Minister aware that I got a similar answer from his predecessor at least two years ago?
