Vol. 41 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - The Road Traffic Bill.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether it is intended to proceed with the Road Traffic Bill, 1931, which was under consideration by the Dáil before the dissolution.

It is intended to introduce a Bill based generally on the provisions of the Road Traffic Bill which was under consideration in the last Dáil.

Can the Parliamentary Secretary give any indication as to the date on which such a measure will be introduced?

A Bill has been represented in a White Paper for the consideration of Ministers. This White Paper includes a series of draft amendments the principles of which were generally favoured during the discussion in the last Dáil. The date of the introduction will depend on the approval of the Executive Council and will be contingent on other urgent measures being disposed of, such as the Old Age Pensions and other urgent Bills.
