Vol. 41 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Newport Lands (Tipperary).

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state when he proposes to divide the estate of Ryan, Ballymackeogh, Newport, Co. Tipperary, amongst the uneconomic holders and landless people of that area, and if he will consider allotting a playing pitch to accommodate the hurling teams in that district.

The Land Commission are in negotiation with the owner for the purchase of the lands of Ballymackeogh on the Ryan estate. The lands, if acquired, will be divided in accordance with the provisions of Section 31, Land Act, 1923, and the question of the provision of a playing pitch will be considered in connection with such division.
