Vol. 42 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Recent Armed Robbery in Co. Cork.

asked the Minister for Justice whether his attention has been drawn to a case recently tried at the Cork Circuit Court in which two young men admitted a charge of armed robbery of an old man of seventy in the Dromina district; if he can state if the gun used in this outrage was licensed and, if not, what steps, if any, he proposes to take in the matter, and if he will state how the gun has been disposed of.

The gun used on the occasion in question is the property of a person who was not a party to the robbery and from whose house the gun was taken without the owner's knowledge or permission. The owner holds a certificate for the gun and the gun is being returned to him.
