Vol. 43 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Annuities Moratorium and Agricultural Rates.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether in view of the recent pronouncement of the Minister in which payments of arrears of land purchase annuities due to December, 1931, have been deferred, he will state what steps he proposes to take to relieve rates on agricultural land of the additional burden consequent on this relief, and whether it is his intention to introduce legislation removing this burden altogether from the Agricultural Grant.

It is not the intention of the Government to vary the provision made in the Budget for the relief of rates on agricultural land. The answer to the last part of the Deputy's question is in the negative.
