Vol. 46 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Alternative Markets.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he has any further information to give the Dáil regarding the results of the Government's efforts to obtain alternative markets abroad for our surplus agricultural produce.

As the inquiries and experimental consignments in connection with foreign markets for Saorstát surplus agricultural produce are still proceeding, I do not consider that at the moment any detailed information on the matter could be usefully given.

Can the Minister hold out any hope of these alternative markets, which have been promised for years, being made available, so that farmers will be able to dispose of their surplus produce?

Dr. Ryan

They have been disposing of their surplus produce.

At a sacrifice, thanks to you.
