Question:81 Miss Harney asked the Minister for the Marine if he will meet with representatives of the Docks, Marine and Transport Branch of SIPTU to discuss the development of a cohesive maritime policy.

I have invited the unions to participate fully in the current review of shipping policy and substantive discussions are now underway between Department officials and SIPTU on the issues involved. I have also indicated my willingness to meet representatives of SIPTU at an early date.
