Vol. 46 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Councillors' Travelling Expenses.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he is prepared to introduce proposals for legislation to amend Section 63 of the Local Government Act, 1925, so as to enable county councils and other public authorities to pay the travelling expenses of members attending meetings of such bodies.

Section 63 of the Local Government Act, 1925, enables the payment of contributions towards the expenses of travelling of members of local authorities to be made under certain conditions. If the Deputy indicates what alteration in the present arrangements he desires, I will have the matter examined.
