Vol. 46 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Market for Surplus Potatoes.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he is aware of any market for the big surplus of potatoes at present on farmers' hands and which the home market is not able to absorb.

Efforts are being made to find markets for surplus potatoes. The surplus exists chiefly in Counties Donegal and Wexford, and in the Ballina district of County Mayo. Possibly a fair clearance may be effected in the ten or twelve weeks of the exporting season yet to run.
