Vol. 47 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Castletownbere Harbour Buoy.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will take up with the Commissioners of Irish Lights the question of the advisability of replacing the Harbour Rock buoy at the western entrance to Castletownbere Harbour, which was removed without any apparent reason in the year 1925.

The Commissioners of Irish Lights have expressed the opinion that the removal of this buoy is not a menace to shipping. They have stated that an unlighted buoy in this position would be of little use, and might be, in fact, a danger to drift net fishing vessels, navigating at night.
