Vol. 47 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bounty on Exported Potatoes.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he will give a bounty on the export of potatoes equal to the recently increased British tariffs in view of the very large stocks of last year's crop still held in the country and the small prices that are being secured by farmers for this surplus; and, if not, how he proposes to arrange for the absorption of these stocks as mentioned by him recently.

Proposals for an increase in the rate of bounty on exported potatoes are at present under consideration and I hope to be in a position to announce the Government's decision in the matter within a week.
