asked the Minister for Education whether his attention has been called to the complaints, made at the recent Gaelic League Conference, as to the system, under which Irish books, and translations from English in particular, are published by the Department of Education; and whether anything is being done to meet these complaints.

My attention has not been called to the complaints suggested in the Deputy's question. I understand from the Press reports of the proceedings that a resolution was passed at the recent Ard-Fheis of the Gaelic League calling for an inquiry into the work of the Publications Branch of my Department, but I am not aware of the reasons advanced to show that such an inquiry was necessary or desirable.
