Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Old Age Pensions Claims.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he is aware that John Curley, Drumkeen, Claremorris was recommended an old age pension at the rate of 10/- per week by the Ballindale Old Age Pensions Sub-Committee last October; that an appeal is still pending against the decision of the Sub-Committee; and if he will state the cause of the delay in deciding the appeal.

It has been determined that the claimant is entitled to a pension of ten shillings a week from 10th November, 1932.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the cause of the delay in deciding the appeal which is pending since last December against the decision of the Claremorris Old Age Pensions Sub-Committee which recommended that Anthony King, Cloonmore, Claremorris, and his wife Honoria King be allowed old age pensions at the rate of 10/- each per week.

It has been determined that each of the two claimants is entitled to a pension at the increased rate of ten shillings a week from 30th September, 1932.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is aware that the Claremorris Old Age Pensions Sub-Committee granted Mrs. Celestine Morley, Kilnagower, Claremorris, an old age pension of 10/- per week last October; that an appeal was lodged by the Pensions Officer against the Committee's decision; that the appeal is still pending; and if he will state the cause of the delay in having the appeal decided.

It has been determined that the claimant is entitled to a pension of seven shillings a week from 23rd September, 1932.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the cause of the delay in deciding the appeal which is pending since last November, against the decision of the Claremorris Old Age Pensions Sub-Committee which recommended that Peter Cleary, Gurteenmore, Claremorris, be granted a pension at the rate of 10/- per week under the Old Age Pensions Act, 1932.

An appeal is before the Minister for adjudication, and further enquiries are in progress as to the claimant's means. A decision will be given at the earliest possible date.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he is aware that the Claremorris Old Age Pension Sub-Committee recommended last November that an old age pension of 10/- per week be paid to Mrs. Cosgrove, James' Street, Claremorris; that the pensions officer appealed against the decision of the Sub-Committee; that no decision on the appeal has yet been given; and if he will state the cause of the delay in deciding the appeal.

An appeal is before the Minister for adjudication, and further enquiries are in progress as to the claimant's age and means. A decision will be given at the earliest possible date.
