Vol. 47 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dismissals from Kilworth Forestry.

Mr. Daly

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware that 25 men were dismissed from work in the Kilworth Forestry and if he will state the reasons for the dismissal of these men, and if and when they are likely to be reinstated.

Dr. Ryan

The men referred to were employed on operations, outside the normal programme, undertaken mainly for the relief of unemployment. These operations have been completed.

The staff of labourers required at present for normal operations at this centre is seven. A certain amount of work may be undertaken at Kilworth next winter, in which event the services of about 15 additional labourers would be required for a few months.
