Vol. 48 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - New School for Letterbrick (County Donegal).

asked the Minister for Education whether an application has been received for a grant towards the building of a new school at Letterbrick, Cloghan, County Donegal, and, if so, whether sanction has been given and if he is aware that the existing school is in a precarious condition and a danger to the pupils and teachers.

An application as indicated in the question has been received from the manager of the Letterbrick National School, and is receiving urgent attention. My Department hopes to be in a position to sanction a grant in the case in the near future. In the meantime, as the existing building is very defective, I have had enquiry made with regard to the temporary works which may be needed pending the erection of a new school.
