Vol. 48 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Stamping Unemployment Insurance Cards.

Mr. P. Hogan

(Clare) asked the Minister for Finance if a decision has yet been arrived at respecting the stamping of the unemployment insurance cards of the men employed on the Fergus drainage works, recently carried out by the Board of Public Works.

A number of typical cases of workmen employed on drainage works has recently been submitted to the Minister for Industry and Commerce for decision under Section 10 (1) of the Unemployment Insurance Act, 1920, and is at present under consideration.

Mr. P. Hogan (Clare):

Is the Minister aware that practically the same answer was given 12 months ago— that the matter was under consideration?

The position now is that the matter has been formally referred to the Minister for decision under the section.
