Vol. 48 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price of Carrageen.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state what price per stone his Department is paying for carrageen this year and what price was paid in the years 1931 and 1932 respectively.

This year's price for good carrageen is 1/6 and for superior 2/6 per stone. The prices paid in 1931 and 1932 were 2/- and 2/6 respectively.

Mr. Lynch

Will the Parliamentary Secretary say what is the explanation of the fall in prices this year? It was considered two years ago that 2/- per stone should be the minimum price paid.
