Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price of Kelp.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state what price his Department is paying per ton for kelp to the gatherers this year and what price was paid in the years 1931 and 1932 respectively.

The average price paid for kelp taken in by the Department in 1931 and 1932 was £6 17s. 4d. per ton, as against which it is anticipated that the average price this year will be £5 7s. 6d. per ton.
