Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Edenderry Peace Commissioner.

asked the Minister for Justice whether he is aware that a Mr. George Connell, Edenderry, had been appointed a Peace Commissioner; and if he is further aware that in an advertisement, under the heading of Irish Republican Army, in the Offaly Independent on May 13th last the name of George Connell, Edenderry, appeared as one of those authorised to accept recruits for the Irish Republican Army, and if full enquiries were made before the appointment to the Peace Commissionership was made.

I am aware that a Mr. George O'Connell, of Edenderry, has been appointed a Peace Commissioner. The answer to the second part of the question is in the negative and to the last part in the affirmative.
