Vol. 48 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - New Ross Corn Merchant and Cereals Act.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he proposes to take any action in pursuance of the complaint made to his Department by Mr. J.M. Hearne, Corn Merchant, New Ross, to the effect that the Agricultural Produce (Cereals) Act, 1933, is operating unfairly against his trade.

Dr. Ryan

The maize miller referred to has furnished my Department with no definite evidence that his business has been affected by the operation of the Agricultural Produce (Cereals) Act beyond the extent to which a measure of this kind will naturally affect all maize millers.

If Mr. Hearne gets into touch with the Minister and gives him further particulars will he endeavour to have them investigated to see how far he is affected?

Dr. Ryan

Certainly.

The reply to Question No. 4 will be issued with the Official Reports.
