Vol. 49 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Lough Foyle Fishery Rights.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if the recent correspondence with the British Government on the subject of fishery rights in Lough Foyle has been continued, and, if so, with what result.

The recent correspondence with the British Government on the subject of fishery rights in Lough Foyle has been continued. The correspondence is still proceeding, and I do not think it would be right for me to make a statement at the moment indicating the stage reached.

Does the President indicate that he hopes this correspondence will reach a satisfactory conclusion?

The Deputy is aware of the time it took himself.

And I am to assume that it will take the President that time and possibly longer?
