Vol. 50 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Statement Concerning a Deputy.

put the following questions: To ask the President if the anxiety which on 28th September he told the Dáil he had to see disproved the particular charge made by himself against Deputy Mulcahy has been completely satisfied by what has since happened in connection with this charge, or if he has any proposal to make in order completely to remove any suspicion attaching to Deputy Mulcahy and completely to discredit those responsible for inventing and recklessly publishing the charge.

To ask the President if the particulars furnished to him in regard to the alleged meeting of Deputy Mulcahy with the British War Minister indicated, as insinuated by the President on 28th September in the Dáil, that the alleged meeting was for the purpose of furthering either (a) a coup, (b) the suppression of representative institutions here, or (c) civil war; and, if so, will the President give the portion of the report alleged to have been received by him which evidences any or all of these purposes.

I propose to take questions Nos. 1 and 2 together. As I have already several times informed the Deputy, I do not intend to add anything to the statement which I made in the Dáil on the 4th October.
