Vol. 567 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Gay Mitchell

Question:

300 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children the other assistance which may be available to assist persons (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14286/03]

The Department of the Environment and Local Government, through the relevant local authority, provides grant assistance to people with physical and/or sensory disabilities by means of the disabled persons grant for the purpose of meeting the accessibility needs of this client group within their homes. However, a copy of the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer of the Eastern Regional Health Authority with a request that he examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
