Vol. 50 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Co. Wexford Free Milk Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will instruct the County Wexford Board of Public Health to include John Kearns of Coolishal, Wellingtonbridge, County Wexford, in the list of those to whom an allowance of milk is to be given under the free milk scheme, in view of the facts that he has only £1 per week wages and no other income; that he has a delicate wife and nine children to support; that three of his children are under five years of age and four are going to school; that Dr. Bastible, County M.O.H., in his school inspection has found them to be underweight and that Dr. Brady, M.O.H., of Bannow dispensary district has issued a certificate to the relieving officer recommending this family for an allowance of free milk.

The Department has no information regarding individual applicants for milk allowances under the free milk supply schemes and no complaint has previously been received regarding the case mentioned. Inquiries are, however, being made and the Deputy will be notified of the result in due course.
